For almost a year now, I had an idea for a themed shoot that I wanted to try. I was inspired by a series of middle reader books and wanted to take a crack at a shoot that was loosely themed around them. It certainly didn’t hurt that the series was written by one of my favorite actors/authors. After stewing on it for a while, I was lucky enough to make a new friend who also just so happened to be a fan AND has an adorable daughter who could be the model for this. I’m so happy I was able to bring my vision to life, but dare I say I’m not done? I don’t think I am. I haven’t even broken the surface with these amazing books and there is much more to explore! Art is such a deeply emotional thing for those of us who create it, and a vision brought to life helps to fulfill our souls. Last week, I was actually able to meet the author and presented him with a few prints from the session, it was a fantastic experience. It’s amazing how one person’s creativity can inspire another’s. Here are a few variations of the prints that were given, I saved the truly final edits just for him. If you’re interested in a truly wonderful series of books for your child, I encourage you to pick up The Land of Stories by Chris Colfer. I do not think you or your children will be disappointed.
